Home Education Creatives (Ages 7-11)

Join my new Home Educated Creatives course, a live online art class designed especially for home educated children aged 7–11. This course offers a well rounded approach to art, helping young creatives build confidence, explore techniques, and develope their skills.

Each term, we focus on one of four key areas, breaking down the drawing and creative process into simple, easy to follow steps. But it’s not just about copying, we focus on understanding, experimenting, and finding their creative voice.

Children will explore exciting materials like watercolours, oil pastels, and mixed media, working in a sketchbook and towards a final piece every term.

Here's what we'll explore throughout the terms:

Drawing & Mark Making

-Learn essential drawing techniques (lines, shading, texture).

-Explore materials like pencils, charcoal and pastels.

-Develope observation skills by drawing objects, animals, and people.

Painting & Colour Theory

-Discover primary, secondary, and complementary colours.

-Learn about colour blending, warm vs. cool tones, and different painting styles.

Sculpture & 3D Art

-Create 3D artworks using clay and other modelling materials.

-Explore carving, moulding, and assembling techniques.

-Make fun projects like masks, figures, and nature-inspired creations.

Printmaking & Collage

-Experiment with stamping, textures, and layering.

-Learn how to combine drawing, painting, and mixed media.

Art History & Appreciation

-Get inspired by legendary artists like Van Gogh, Picasso, and Frida Kahlo.

-Explore modern masters like Grayson Perry, Yayoi Kusama, and David Hockney.

-Learn about different art movements and develope art analysis skills.

Creative Community: Children will have the chance to share their work and ideas with other creatives, offering a sense of community and collaboration among young artists. Flexible Learning: The course is designed to fit seamlessly into a home education schedule, with recorded sessions available for those who cannot attend a class. How Online Works

Can teaching art online really work? Absolutely!

In my experience, online classes are both accessible and highly effective. Through live Zoom sessions, I bring high quality art lessons straight to you. Whether you’re in a bustling city, a quiet village, or away from home. I know not everyone has easy access to local art classes or studios, but we all deserve the chance to deepen our creativity and skills in something we love.

During each live Zoom class, we’ll dive into various art techniques, materials, and ideas together, with other like minded creatives who share the same passion.

What You’ll Need:

All you need is a device, a WiFi connection, and some basic art materials. I’ll provide a material list for each class, and I always try to keep it simple and affordable. If you don’t have something, it’s usually easy to find.

The online format gives you an up-close view of the creative process. With one camera focused on the artwork and another on me, you won’t miss a single detail. And if you can’t make a class, no worries, I can record everything so you can catch up later!
