Holiday Sketch Club

Sketch Club is for young creatives who enjoy drawing and want some relaxed art time during the school holidays. We’ll sketch lots, explore ideas, and quietly build skills as we go, all online through zoom.

Sessions are live on Zoom, with a maximum of 15 young creatives coming together to draw, learn, chat, and create alongside one another.

Each session has a different starting point, sometimes nature, sometimes animals, sometimes something more imagined. The sessions are a mix of guided demonstrations and plenty of space to follow their own ideas. I’ll show techniques as we go, but there’s always room for young artists to take a detour if something else sparks their interest.

Along the way we naturally touch on things like shading, gesture drawing, mark making, and learning how to really look. These are the kinds of skills that build quietly over time and support everything else they go on to draw.

Sessions are as interactive as they want them to be. I’m always throwing out questions and ideas, and they can respond by coming off mute or using the chat box, which often fills up with lovely conversations and shared observations between the group.

If you’ve been to any of my classes before, Sketch Club sits somewhere in between my term time classes (smaller and more focused) and Creative Calm Club (larger, freer, and more spontaneous). A really nice middle ground.

I’d love to see your young creative there.

TESTIMONIALS

"She has really enjoyed the class and looks forward to it every week. It’s boosted her confidence and creativity, and she’s always excited to share what she’s made. It’s been a really positive experience for her" - Esmat (daughter joined Mini Creatives Club)

----------

"Joella’s kind, calm, and structured approach creates such a safe and nurturing environment for children to grow. She has a wonderful ability to support each child’s unique personality and pace. It’s been a beautiful experience, and we’re so grateful for it. My daughter is 9 and can be quite shy, especially in new groups, so I was a little nervous about how she'd find the experience. But week by week, her confidence grew. She truly looked forward to each session and was so proud of what she was learning and creating." - Lisa (daughter joined the Mini Creatives Club)

--------

"Charlie really enjoys the lessons, his confidence has increased a lot since starting the weekly group and the art work has been fantastic too! Thanks Joella!" - Amy (son joined the Young Creatives Course)
