Service Description

The Young Artist Course is perfect for teens aged 15-18 who want to push their art learning further. The overall goal is to inspire creativity, teach essential techniques, and provide a supportive space for self expression and growth. Here’s what they’ll get to learn: -------------------- Core Drawing and Painting Techniques: - Mastering foundational skills like shading, perspective, and proportion. - Learning how to sketch effectively and bring ideas to life on paper. - Experimenting with different painting techniques, such as layering, blending, and washes. Exploring Art Materials: - Using a range of mediums like charcoal, graphite, ink, watercolour, acrylics, or pastels. - Understanding the unique properties of each material and how to combine them for mixed media projects. Creative Thinking and Problem Solving - Exploring how to develop concepts and translate ideas into visual art. - Learning how to critique and refine their work constructively. Art History and Contemporary Inspiration - Studying key movements, artists, and cultural influences from history. - Drawing inspiration from both classical and modern artists. Project Based Learning - Working on longer term projects. - Experimenting with themes like emotions, or abstract ideas. - Creating pieces that reflect personal identity and interests. Building Confidence and Individual Style - Encouraging self-expression and learning how to channel emotions into art. - Experimenting with different styles to find what resonates with them. - Understanding that mistakes are part of the process and can lead to unexpected creativity. Practical Skills - Preparing a portfolio for school, competitions, or even future career opportunities. - Learning the basics of composition, colour theory, and design principles. - Understanding how to present and talk about their work. Pricing Options £150 | Full Term: January 16th - 3rd April (10 sessions, no sessions on 6th & 20th Feb) £60 | Half Term: January 16th - 13th February (4 sessions, no session on 6th Feb) £15 | Trial Session When booking, please select the pricing option at the bottom of the page.
